Educational visits

An educational visit or school trip takes children and young people away from the classroom to another place to develop or improve learning. We support educational visits because they help pupils to develop and achieve more.

Our code of practice for educational visits is based on the Department for Education Health and Safety Advice for Schools.

Kench Hill Centre

Kench Hill is a beautiful Georgian manor house with rich, green and colourful gardens in the Kent countryside. It provides high quality, fun and educational activities for primary and secondary school children.

School journey grant

Functions and hire

Hackney families and employees can hire Kench Hill as a special venue, events or workshops. They can accommodate up to 40 people on a fully catered or self-catering basis.

The centre is close to visitor attractions such as:

  • Camber Sands; and
  • Rye and Bodiam castle
